MY DAILY SHOT

     I was about to start this post off saying that I have a few bad habits, but to be honest, I don't think I do! My health and well-being is pretty important to me and I actually have more good habits than bad ones (so grateful for my health!!) My favourite and pleasurable habit is my morning shot of Ningxia Red.
     My shot of Ningxia Red is the highlight of my morning. The reason I drink it everyday is because it is made from Wolfberries which are an amazing SUPERFOOD ~ so instead of swallowing a bunch of  synthetically formulated vitamins and minerals, I like to eat and drink SUPERFOODS because your body absorbs the nutrients from food so much better.

WHY I NEVER WORE MAKE-UP

     This may sound shocking to you, but I've never worn makeup. The most I've ever used consistently is a concealer and lip gloss. Oh, and in high school went through a very short powdering my nose kind of phase, but that's it! One of the main reasons why I never wore makeup is because, I had pretty good skin, and to be honest I'm a very low maintenance person when it comes to my beauty regime. As you all know, I also will not put any toxic chemicals on my body and most make-up on the market is really toxic and full of chemicals. So I never bothered to get into make-up.
     Anyway, fast forward to my life these days. When I first became interested in sharing Young Living products, my friend Reagan (who is my upline) started telling me about Savvy Minerals Make-Up, and my immediate response was "Oh, I'm never selling make-up!" I didn't have any experience with using makeup, and so felt like the absolute worst candidate for that job. Anyway - things have changed. The stress of moving, and selling my house, and well just CHANGE in general has done a real number on my hormones, and as a result, my skin. It ain't pretty. My cheeks get all red and spotty. Lets not forget the mysterious skin spots that are beginning to appear as I age too. All of these skin things are beginning to make something a little more powerful than concealer almost a necessity. So I order some Savvy Minerals foundation, bronzer and misting spray. Luckily I won a free lipstick a few months back from YL so I've started using that too. What can I say?! I'm loving the flawless complexion look, ALOT!! So much so that now I'm planning to order some Diamond Dust, Blush, and the Savvy makeup brushes. How to Use Savvy Minerals Step-By-Step:

STEP 1: The first step is cleaning your face. I use the Young Living ART system myself. The ART Renewal Serum and/or ART light moisturizer make a great primer. Our Sheerlume Cream is great if you really dry skin too.

STEP 2: FOUNDATION 
     The first product in the line is the foundation. It diminishes the appearance of imperfections and blemishes, minimizes pore appearance, brightens complexion and enhances natural beauty. As with all of the Savvy Minerals by Young Living products, they are vegan friendly and never tested on animals.
     This is a powder foundation that comes in 10 different shades to accommodate any skin tone. You can also blend multiple foundations together to create your perfect look.
COLOUR MATCHING
     Each tone of Savvy Mineral Foundation—Warm, Cool, and Dark—comes in various shades, with No. 1 as the lightest shade. As the number goes up, the shade gets darker. Using your undertone and the shade finder below, select the shade that’s closest to your skin. For your truest tone, look at the skin on your lower cheek, near your jawline.
 I find the foundation is pretty forgiving. I can wear a Warm #2 or #3. Now that my tan is gone, I am wearing a #2 or #2 and #3 blended.
Find Your Undertone

     The first step to flawless foundation is knowing your undertone. Our Warm colours look best on yellow, peach, and gold undertones; our Cool colours look great on pink or red undertones; and our Dark colours have neutral undertones.

     Not sure which undertone you have? Look at the underside of your forearm to find out. If the veins on your arm have a green tinge, you’re likely warm. If they look bluish, you likely have a cool undertone.

     You can also get some hints from the jewelry and clothes you wear. Which metals and colours look great on you? Which make your skin glow? If you reach for silver jewelry and white, black, blue, green, and blue-red clothes, you probably have cool undertones. Tend to favor gold jewelry and ivory, cream, brown, warm reds, and yellows? You likely have warm undertones.

Before you use the foundation, let’s first talk about the Misting Spray.

MISTING SPRAY
     The misting spray was designed by Gary Young as a part of this line to transform the powder foundation into a liquid. To use, simply spray the foundation brush with a bit of the Misting Spray, and allow it to dry for a second. Then pick up some of the powder foundation. Swirl the moistened brush in the lid of the foundation and then tap on finger to release excess. Then apply the foundation to the skin in a gentle swirling motion.      All the Savvy Minerals by Young Living products go on light so you can apply layers to build the colour that you desire. So simply repeat this process until you have the coverage that you want. Be sure that your brush does not get too wet. 
     The misting spray smells amazing! It has skin nourishing ingredients such as aloe, and cedarwood, geranium, lavender, rose essential oils.
CONCEALER: When you use the foundation, you might still want to conceal some blemishes and spots on your face. There are two ways you can do this: just dab a concealer brush in some foundation and apply to spot, or mix with a bit of cream and apply.


STEP #3: BRONZER
     Now, let’s contour using the bronzer. Grab either the contour brush or the bronzer brush, and apply under the cheeks, under the jaw line, or at the hair line to contour, or gentle use it on the cheeks for a sun kissed look. Be sure to shake of any excess off the brush as you go! There are 2 shades of bronzer to choose from. The lighter is Crowned All Over, and the darker shade is Summer Loved.

STEP #4: BLUSH  
     Next step is the blush, arguably the most important makeup step there is. This gives cheeks the perfect flush. It is available in 3 different colours. There is I Do Believe You’re Blushing (a neutral pink), Smashing (a cool pink), and Passionate (a dark burnished rose)
     Again, you can build as much colour as you want; simply repeat the steps above until you like the colour. These can also be used together as some are more sparkly than others.



STEP #5: MINERAL VEIL
     The Diamond Dust Veil may be my most favorite out of all the make-up. You don't want to miss out buying this one. I find it really completes the look. 
     This product is a setting powder for the foundation. Though it looks very white, it’s translucent and glides on clear so it can be used for every skin colour. This gives skin an airbrushed look, and helps to set foundation and make it last longer. Simply grab your powder brush, tap the bottom of the container to release the powder, swirl the brush in the lid and swirl onto skin. Like all of the powders from Savvy Minerals, it is vegan friendly and never tested on animals.


STEP #6: EYESHADOW
     Young Living's great selection of eyeshadow can take you from soft and gentle to bold and dramatic. Again, it is simply all about building layer upon layer of color.
     All the eyeshadow colors are so pretty! I have been using RESIDUAL and DETERMINED for my eyeshadow. I also use Determined as my Eye brow filler - you can use other eyeshadow colors for eyebrow filler or the darker foundations work as well.

     When you start with eyeshadows, always apply Best Kept Secret first. Then you can have fun highlighting with Wanderlust, and filling in the crease with Diffused. For ladies with darker skin, you may want to start with Determined, highlight with Residual and then fill the crease with Unscripted. There are also new green shades, a pale mauve, and limited time only collections for the holidays.

     Just swirl and shake off the excess before applying. For ultra-dramatic looks, you can also use the Misting Spray.

STEP #7: MULTITASKER
     Now, let’s fill in our brows with the multitasker. This product can do so much more than just fill brows, it also can enhance the eyeshadow, fill in the lash line, and cover grey hairs. 
     I have been using the multi-tasker as my eyeliner as I prefer brown over black. This is too dark for my eye brows - I learned that the hard way, but sure had a good laugh about it.
     Grab the eyeliner brush and use the short angled end to fill in brows. I don’t recommend using the Misting Spray with the eyebrow filler unless you want a very bold eyebrow. But, if you want a really deep colour as an eyeshadow, simply moisten the brush with you Misting Spray or with water before using.

STEP #8: EYELINER
     Now, eyeliner is next. Here we can make a big impact if we want to. Get the pointed end of the eyeliner brush soaking wet with water, and pick up some of the Jet Setter and drop it in the lid. Again, wet the end of the brush, and then mix it in the lid until you have a wet paste to work with. While you generally want to avoid mud puddles in the lid of your foundation and blushes, etc, here the mud puddle really works in our favorite to give you a bold eyeliner look without accidentally dripping black powder on your face.

STEP #9: MASCARA
     Then we can finish our look with mascara. The mascara is infused with lavender essential oil for gorgeous lashes from all natural ingredients. This one does contain beeswax, so it is not vegan. It is vegetarian and never tested on animals.

STEP #10: LIPSTICK and/or LIP GLOSS
     The lips are the final step. The lipstick glides on smooth and has a creamy texture that enhances the natural lip colour. They do not contain any gluten ingredients.
     There are 5 gorgeous shades of lip stick to choose from! Adore is a bronze pink, On a Whim is a beige nude, Daydream, a pale peachy pink, Uptown Girl which is a Dusty Rose, and Wish, a nude rose.
     Sweet almond oil, beeswax, and vitamin E are key ingredients that moisturize. Simply apply the lip stick until you have the desired coverage. You can also layer with your favorite Young Living lip balm.
LIP GLOSS
     Lip gloss adds that pop of shine, and provides sheer to medium coverage if worn alone. This helps the lips to look fuller and softens and moisturizes.

SPA NIGHT

     I've been working a lot lately. I wanted a night off to relax, have fun, and be with friends. So I organized a SPA Night ~ so my lady friends and I could chill out and just BE. And we did, big time. To be honest I didn't have a lot of time to plan ahead for this, but I pulled it off and it was really nice. Luckily my friend Reagan Jewitt loaned me her collection of Young Living skin care products so we could try them out and have a supreme facial situation. I also mixed up a bunch of potions and lotions for our spa treatments using my ever growing collection of Young Living essential oils. I will share the recipes for those here too, but first let me tell you the sequence of events.
     Ok, so everyone arrived with some yummy potluck snacks and entrees, yoga mats, and towels. I had my laptop set up in my yoga studio and we streamed a YogaGlo class off the internet. I totally could have taught a class, but I honestly didn't want to ~ that would be work, and I just wanted to not think and relax. It was fun! It was like we all went to a yoga class together, but we didn't have to leave the house! Then it was time for the potluck, so we feasted and ate chocolate cupcakes and brownies for dessert. I asked Reagan to bring her Young Living Savvy Mineral Cosmetics stash so she could give a few of us a little makeover using this super deluxe non-toxic mineral makeup. Good thing Nickie came too, because 3 of us wanted to get gorgeous.

We paired up so we could all take turns enjoying each of the  4 spa stations set up around the house:
1) The Meditation Room ~ my good friend Becky Keen has a sweet guided meditation that we listened to when it was our turn to meditate.


2) The Manicure/Pedicure Station: Peppermint Salt Scrub, Foot Balm, and tubs for a good foot soak ~ bliss....


3) The Facial Station: The Complete Young Living ART Skin Care line made it easy and delightful to  cleanse, scrub, mask, tone, and moisturizer our skin. I even made Lavender Eye Make Up Remover Pads and Oatmeal Honey mask too. The highlight of this station though were the steamy hot facecloths (ready and waiting in a crockpot set on low) and the cucumbers for the eyes (of course!)
4) The Massage Table: I have never once regretted buying a massage table. It seriously came in handy last night. Even an amateur massage from a friend works magic on a tired momma, cuz it comes with a loving touch ~
Lots of gratitude for the laughter that filled my home last night......
THE RECIPES

FOOT SCRUB
1 cup epsom salts
1/4 cup almond oil
10 drops Young Living Peppermint essential oil
5 drops Young Living Tea Tree essential oil

OATMEAL HONEY FACE MASK
1/4 cup organic oatmeal
1 Tbsp jojoba oil
20 drops Young Living Lavender essential oil
1/3 cup hot water
1 Tbsp honey

Method: Grind oatmeal finely. Stir in oil, honey, and lavender. Stir hot water in to create desired consistency. Smooth onto face and let sit 10 minutes. Wash off.

ALOE VERA HAND GEL
2 Tbsp veg. glycerin
1/4 tsp almond oil
2 Tbsp Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Jelly
2 Tbsp water
10 drops Young Living Sacred Sandalwood essential oil 
5 drops Young Living Rose essential oil

Combine and place in a pump bottle.

LAVENDER EYE MAKEUP REMOVE PADS
2 Tbsp Young Living V-6 Carrier Oil
1 Tbsp witch hazel (alcohol free)
2 Tbsp water
4 drops Young Living Lavender essential oil

Combine all ingredients in a glass jar and shake well. Place a stack of round organic cotton pads in the jar and seal.

FOOT BALM
1/4 cup calendula infused olive oil (or plain)
1/4 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup cocoa butter
25 g beeswax
30 drops Young Living Peppermint essential oil
5 drops Young Living Tea Tree essential oil

Warm the vegetable oils and beeswax in a double boiler until wax is melted. Allow to cool slightly and stir in essential oils. Pour into glass container.

MASSAGE OIL FOR HARDWORKING MAMMAS
1 drop Young Living Sandalwood essential oil
3 drops Young Living Neroli essential oil
2 drop Young Living Orange essential oil
2 drops Young Living Frankincense essential oil
2 drops Young Living Bergamot essential oil

Place in 100 ml sweet almond oil.

TICK TALK

     It's only March and the ticks are already out here on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. As much as I love the Spring and Fall, it is also a scary time of year because that is generally when ticks are active. If you live somewhere ticks don't, then you may not be aware that ticks can transmit a very dangerous illness called "Lyme Disease." There is no cure for it, although treatments are quite effective. 
I'm going to share some information about ticks, and what you can do preventatively to avoid being affected by them.


Lyme Symptoms (not a full list and not limited to):
*Body Aches                           
*Joint Pain
*Fatigue                                   
*Heart Issues
*Stiffness                                 
*Flu Symptoms
*Memory Loss                         
*Anxiety/Depression
*Headaches                             
*Twitching
*Brain Fog                                
*Sleep Issues
*Gastrointestinal Symptoms (stomach/digestive)
*Neuropathy (never pain, numbness, hot/cold sensations, tingling)

Most people look for a bull's eye type of rash that appears at the site of the tick bite, but apparently this doesn't always appear.

Here are some tips to avoid getting bitten by a tick: (taken from http://www.lymedisease.org):

*Dress Defensively: Wear long pants/sleeves, light clothing (to spot ticks easier).
*Check for Ticks Everyday: Seems simple but important! Look in hidden places (ears belly, scalp).
*Avoid Tick Habitats: This doesn’t mean to avoid hiking all together. Rather, stick to the cleared trails rather than the tall grassy areas.
*Check Your Pets: See if there are tick-prevention options for your pets; they can be a magnet for ticks when outside.
*Wear Repellent: See recipe below to make your own effective, toxic-free tick repellent.

TICK REPELLANT
As much as I loathe ticks and the potential risks associated by being bitten by one, I am still hesitant to use chemical insect repellants, especially on my children. 

Why Not DEET?

     N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide (DEET) is the usual go-to for commercial bug spray. It’s incredibly controversial, and for good reason. Recently Dr. Abou Donia, a Duke University pharmacologist, found that “rats treated with an average human dose of DEET (40 mg/kg body weight) performed far worse than control rats when challenged with physical tasks requiring muscle control, strength and coordination.” 
     In the same study, Dr. Abou Donia found that DEET caused “neurons to die in regions of the brain that control muscle movement, learning, memory and concentration.” The pharmacologist says that children are at a higher risk for brain changes after DEET exposure because their skin absorbs it more readily.
     Fortunately, there’s a natural alternative. It has been found that GERANIUM ESSENTIAL OIL works comparably to DEET in repelling ticks. The species used (Pelargonium graveolens) comes from a French island and is only produced in very small quantities. The Geranium essential oil Young Living sells is this species.

Additional essential oils that repel ticks:
CITRONELLA, EUCALYPTUS, CLOVE, OREGANO, CEDARWOOD
    
Should I mix my essential oils with oil or water?
It’s really up to you. Water-based formulas can be sprayed on skin or clothing without causing oiliness. On the other hand, oil-based formulas require fewer applications than water-based versions because they last longer. Lotion lasts longer than water-based formulas and is less oily than oil-based formulas, but it’s not as easy to apply. I’ve included options for all three below.

NATURAL TICK REPELLANTS
     These recipes are targeted specifically toward ticks, but is also helpful with mosquitos.  They are safe for children over two and pregnant/nursing mamas. (Note: For children under two you can spray their clothes when we are going outside.)

WATER-BASED INSECT REPELLANT

100 ml apple cider vinegar, witch hazel or vodka 

100 ml  water

40-80 drops of any of the essential oils mentioned above, or a combination thereof
Optional – 1/2 teaspoon glycerin to help the scent last longer

Method: Because essential oils don’t mix well with water, start by adding your geranium oil to the apple cider vinegar, witch hazel or vodka. Add a squirt of castile soap if desired and allow it to sit for a couple of minutes before giving the mixture a stir. This will disperse the essential oil in the liquid. Add water and pour into a spray bottle, preferably one made of glass. (Essential oils can leach chemicals from some plastics, and we don’t want that!)
Shake well before use. Spray on skin or clothes before going outside.
LOTION-BASED VERSION
2 ounces natural unscented body lotion 
20-40 drops Young Living Geranium essential oil
Method: Mix lotion and essential oils together and add to a bottle, . Store in a cool, dark area when not in use. Should last 2-3 months.
Apply directly on skin before going outdoors.
OIL-BASED VERSION

2 ounces liquid oil such a jojoba (which is non-greasy), olive, etc. 

20-40 drops Young Living Geranium essential oil 

Method: Mix oil and essential oils together and add to a spray bottle, or better yet an oil mister that is less likely to clog. Store in a cool, dark area when not in use. Should last 2-3 months.
Spray directly on skin before going outdoors.

KUNDALINI YOGA FOR LENT


     I was having a nice conversation with a woman who attends my Sunday yoga class and she mentioned she was considering incorporating a 40 day Kundalini Yoga meditation to mark and honour the Lenten season. I thought this was a lovely idea and thought I'd mention it to you too in case you find this idea appealing as well!

     As a child growing up in a Greek Orthodox family, I annually participated in a traditional Greek lenten period which meant dietary restrictions and fasting. I didn't quite get it at the time, but I am so grateful that I experienced that austere and devotional practice, clearly it had a profound effect on me and has made me the person I am today...
     While it is most common to associate Lent and fasting with Christian (especially Catholic) religions, it is interesting to note that there is a long tradition of spring purification in many faiths and traditions. The very name of Lent is synonymous with the season, for it comes from the Anglo-Saxon lenctene, meaning the time when the days lengthen. If you think about what’s going on in the natural world, these food deprivations make sense. This part of early spring is the most hazardous time of the year for people living close to the earth. The first bitter greens (so prominent a part of spring equinox feasts like Passover and Easter) are just emerging. Fresh eggs, also associated with these feasts, are not yet available; birds are just beginning to nest. The foodstuffs, particularly the salted and smoked meat, that were stored to carry the family through the winter may be giving out. The potatoes and apples left in the cellar are getting soft and of dubious quality. The deprivation of Lent may not be voluntary but a necessity imposed by nature.
     The 40 days of Lent are a significant period. Forty is a magical number which recurs throughout the Bible (Noah floated in his ark for 40 days and nights, the chosen people wandered in the desert for 40 years, Jonah led the citizens of Nineveh through 40 days of penance). But forty is also a "magical" number in the Kundalini Yoga tradtition where it is said that it takes 40 days to break a habit (or establish a new routine).
     But it’s not just the number of days that are significant but their conjunction with the season. In Chinese medicine, spring is the time of the liver, whose energy is change. The sap is rising in the trees, which are budding; the green stalks of crocuses and snowdrops are pushing through the frozen ground. There's an incredible shift happening which — in those parts of the world which are frozen — manifests in the spring thaw, the breaking up of the contraction of winter. Lent is the time for making auspicious changes.
     So, here is what I plan to do ~ for 40 days beginning on Ash Wednesday (by the way I find it interesting that this is the day when priests mark your forehead with a smudge of dark ash  ~ right on the third eye chakra, a place also marked with sacred ash in Hindu devotions!) ~ I'm going to commit to 40 days of Sadhana which means getting up at 5am before the sun rises and doing a Kundalini Yoga kriya and then about 1.5 hours of mantra. I also made a You Tube video called "Kriya for Morning Sadhana" which is a really lovely Kundalini Yoga class you may enjoy committing to doing for 40 days. I've also chosen a very special meditation which you might want to practice daily for Lent ~ it is called "The Seven Wave Sat Nam Meditation"
     If the idea of Fasting or Cleansing appeals to you, this could translate to a cleanse or yogic fast. 40 days is a long period of time, so you might choose to spend the first two or three weeks preparing your mind and body, do the fast or cleanse in the middle of Lent, and then spend the remaining period transitioning back to your regular eating habits. Participating in a fast or cleanse can be a powerful opportunity to work on the body, mind, and spirit simultaneously, and would be very appropriate for the Lenten season.  If you don’t feel ready or willing to take on a fast or cleanse, making a commitment to eat better (even once a day or once a week) will go a long way to your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

WHY I'M A YOUNG LIVING FLOWER CHILD FULL TILT

     Here is my official disclosure on why I've chosen Young Living as my business....

There are so very many reasons but I will just start and let it all roll out >>>>

     Now, I don't like to call myself a single mom, because technically I'm not. I mean, I'm solo, but fortunately my children do still have a very supportive father in their life ~ financially, physically, and emotionally. But I am a solo woman meaning I've got no one else's income to fall back on to keep this ship afloat. Yet I am still the primary care provider for my two young children which means I am on duty a few nights a week ~ gotta keep our house in order and all that comes with it. I need to be here for them during the summer, spring break, over the winter holidays, PA days, sick days and on, and on, and on. For all you momma's out there, you know how challenging it can be to find good paying work that gives you the flexibility to still be a mom, right?! Not to mention work that feeds your soul and that you know is in alignment with your purpose in life. So that is reason number one ~ Young Living is a job I can do on my own time and even with a crazy mom schedule.
     Reason number two is that is also enables me to continue my occupation as a Kundalini Yoga teacher, and in fact it enhances my teaching. More often than not you will find me diffusing a very sweet blend of Young Living oils that magnify the purpose of our practice. As a yoga teacher there is a very obvious "glass ceiling" to the amount of money I can make, so I enthusiastically embrace the opportunity Young Living provides me to make great money and still teach without the pressure of having to pay the bills solely from my teaching income. Hey, while we are on the subject, here is the YL income disclosure statement ~ (and while you look at it, keep in mind that a huge percentage of members become members simply to buy and enjoy the product because it rocks, and don't actively sell any). It is such a relief to be a part of a company that actually rewards me for the amount of effort I put in! I put the work in, my income increases! For a mom who has been on duty 24/7 working her tush off for the past 10 years creating and raising humans, not to mention still hustling to make a buck wherever and however she can, it is quite a novelty to get paid for the work I do. It is thrilling actually.
     I'm going to be totally honest here and say my initial impulse to make Young Living my business was to make money. When my mentor and friend Reagan Jewitt ~ who is a Diamond Distributor with Young Living told me how much money she makes every month I lost my shit. I mean I had no idea that was even possible. I mean, here I am, a 42 year old mom of two young kids ~ separated from her husband, and am faced with the reality of having to just jump right into the (paid) workforce after 10 incredibly crazy years of motherhood. Jump in and swim right away. There is no more time for experimentation or business building. Those days are over. I have to make money, and FAST. I am hell bent on it being a fulfilling job too though. I'm not going to spend my days working at Wal-Mart (no offence to all the lovely people at Wal-Mart, I truly appreciate all that you do) in the rural town I live closest too. Right, I forgot to mention that, I live in the country, so the jobs around here are not exactly up my alley ya know!? I need to devote myself to work that feeds my soul, that makes me feel like I am doing the work that I came here to do. So, like I said, I figured yes I can wrap my head around selling essential oils because
a) I love essential oils
b) In my previous life I used to manage the cosmetics department of a busy downtown Toronto health food store which means I sold essential oils all the time, so yeah I had experience
c) Also in my previous life pre-babies I had a very successful natural skin care company called Anointment where I formulated products using, you guessed it, essential oils
d) I am also a Registered Holistic Nutritional Consultant who's goal is to help people live healthy, non-toxic lifestyles, which Young Living strives to do as well.......
     So as you can see I was a shoo-in for this essential oil biz. But then something incredibly crazy happened. I fell in love with the company. I mean, this was completely unexpected. When I read up on how Young Living began, and the dedication, devotion, and commitment Gary and Mary Young have to the creation of these potent distillations from nature, I was blown away. So, I went from having $$ signs in my eyes to having ** and hearts because this whole thing goes way beyond profit my friends ~ not that I think the two things need to be separated. I am all for prosperity and abundance for all ~ but it's gotta go hand in hand with quality, and Young Living's got it going on ~ and on all levels.
     Ok now, for the sake of not taking up too much of your time, I'm going to do the rest in point form because I have a LOT of reasons why I am in it for good:

4) Willable Income: Otherwise known as Legacy Income, once you are earning $3000/month, you can will your Young Living income to your children and spouse. Yeah, I know that is some sweet ass sheit.

5) I can take time off work, and still get paid! Once you have some business builders on your team, you can take a holiday, or sick leave for yourself or loved ones and still get a cheque in the mail. Yeah, and there's more...

6) I'm my own boss. I set my schedule. I work as hard or as soft as I want and I answer to me. Oh, and I can work from anywhere which means I can fly to Bali with my laptop and still work.

7) Guaranteed Bonuese: as you rank up in the company they fly you off to their numerous farms all over the world for a little vacay where you help with harvest, learn about oils and distillation, frolic in the fields, and sometimes even get to soak in a floral water hot tub overlooking the mountains. Tough life.

8) The products are amazing. The oils are made from plants that are beyond organic ~ they hand weed, and use stuff like essential oils instead of pesticides to care for their crops. Gary Young has perfected the art of distillation and does it the right way, without solvents or chemicals. The oils are actually pure and therapeutic grade ~ no fillers, extenders, or any additives.

9) The company gives back. So not only do they generously compensate their members, but Young Living has something called the D. Gary Young Foundation which sponsors many initiatives to help empower the lives of children and their families ~ including a school they started on the Ecuador farm.

10) Oh yeah, I forgot to empahsize and go into detail about the fact that Young Living has their own farms! They don't just sell oils, they actually grown the plants from (high quality superior strain) seeds, then distill them, bottle them, and distribute them. They have farms all over the world! They also have partner farms that follow their strict SEED to SEAL standards.

THE BODY TALKS

     I'm going to get super personal here now and share something that I've been experiencing lately. My body, in it's supreme wisdom and intelligence has been communicating with me in a very powerful, and pretty impossible to ignore kind of way. About a month or so ago I detected a lump in my breast. Yeah, I know crazy huh. My family doesn't have a history of breast cancer or anything. I'm fairly physically active. I've lived a holistic and natural lifestyle since I was 17. I do yoga. I even dry brush my skin and take cold showers in the morning. Not your high risk for breast cancer kind of gal. So this came as quite a surprise to me. So I asked myself ~ what is the message here? What is my body trying to tell me? Deep in my heart I knew the answers. My heart is hurting.

     Just over a year ago my husband I separated. Years of struggle finally came to an end and it was a relief. Such a huge release and awakening on so many levels happened for me, and to me.  But it's weird because I find myself in a state of being that is so foreign and new ~ the way I used to see the world, relationships, and my position as a woman in the culture I live in has radically shifted and I'm not too sure where I fit in. My understanding of what love is has changed the way I am able to relate to people, including the man I was married to.
     So I sit in stillness and I pray for the wisdom to understand the message my body is giving me. I open myself to become a channel of love in this world. I believe that I am being called to love more. To be of service more. To give unconditionally of the love in my heart. Despite the fact that I feel kind of awkward, like I am brand new at life in a way ~ I know in my heart I have much love to give. I know I am really good at receiving love, my challenge now is to heal my heart by loving.

     In addition to becoming an unconditional love machine I also am hearing loud and clear that I've let my stress levels get way out of control. Like BIG time. I've allowed myself to stop trusting that I can take care of shit, and that anything that I can't take care of, or have control over needs to be surrendered to the Divine. Let go, LET GOD. That was a really easy mantra for me to give over to a year ago, but for some reason these last few months I got caught up in the "holy shit" and run around with my head cut off kind of mentality. That's got to go.

     I did get some Thermography testing done and from the looks of things nothing shows up as lethal or anything, so I am taking this as a warning. I need to take care of business for realz.

So, as I discuss in my Hormonal Bliss Project, stress plays a huge role in hormonal balance, and if left unchecked women's bodies really take a beating.....so here is what I'm doing to take of me:

* a little candida cleanse action as well as bowel cleansing
* sauna therapy
* C0 Q10
* turmeric
* chlorella
* Lorna Vanderhaeghe's Estro-Smart
* Young Living Essential Oil blend which I rub daily onto my breasts:
10 drops each Palmarosa, Lavender, Rosemary, Juniper, Frankincense, Copaiba and Lemon mixed into 150ml olive oil
* and I've arranged to start receiving Acupuncture treatments from a friend
